John Millman, born 14 June 1989 in Brisbane, is an Australian tennis player who has been a professional since 2006.
John Millman started playing tennis at the age of 4. He arrived on the circuit in 2006 and reached his highest ranking in October 2018 with a 33 place in the ATP rankings.
His record on the secondary circuit is more significant. He has won 11 tournaments on the Challenger Tour in singles: Sacramento in 2010, Burnie and Kyoto in 2013, Traralgon and Yokohama in 2014, Lexington, Aptos and Kobe in 2015, Hua Hin in 2017 and Kyoto and Aix-en-Provence in 2018.
In 2016, he represented his country at the Olympic Games by competing in the singles event. He made history by becoming the first player to inflict a 6-0, 6-0 in an Olympic match against Lithuania's Ričardas Berankis. He will lose in the 2nd round to Japan's Kei Nishikori.
In September 2018, he reached the quarter-finals of the US Open, notably beating world number 14 Fabio Fognini in the second round. In the round of 16, he faced world No. 2 Roger Federer, whom he surprisingly beat in four sets (3-6, 7-5, 7-67, 7-63)1, winning for the first time against a top 10 player.
